It’s time to start planning if you want to throw a Fall Party! I’ve been having one for our big family for over 9 years! Here are some ideas that work for us…
We love to have the little ones dress up…at this party, it was the coldest day yet in metro Atlanta but there were still butterflies…
And pirates…
and even a witch running around…
We set up a table for cider outside near the fire pit with a backdrop of photos from all our past parties. Everyone loved sipping cider and walking down memory lane.
(I ordered reprints of pictures I’ve taken over the past 9 years and displayed them on this chicken wire & pallet wood frame)
At the end of the party everyone got to grab some photos to take home with them…
Oh, did I mention that Spider Man came to the party?
I like to set up an area for photos. That way each family can get a picture taken and the all-dressed- up kids can get theirs taken with a seasonal background…at this party I used hay bales and pumpkins…
There are also treat bags for our tiny trick-or-treaters!
Full of all those fun Halloween dollar toys…and a little candy.
That little photo corner is perfect for getting everyone in the same picture…something that doesn’t happen too often.
Everyone gathers outside…and sometimes we carve pumpkins. (see all those pumpkins just waiting to be turned into Jack-O-Lanterns!)
A group photo is also something we do every year…
Adding some throws around the fire pit helped keep everyone toasty…
You never know what magic might transpire on a chilly October afternoon…Our own Spider Man had something in mind that would make this Fall Party one we’d never forget…
After finding a gallon of bubbles, he did what any 2 year old super hero would do…he made his way to the waterfall…and he poured that gallon of bubbles right in!
I mean, why wouldn’t he dump the bubbles into fountain? Suds are so much more fun than just water!
Mikey made the memory that we’ll be talking about in 20 years!
So much fun!
More Fall Party Ideas!
The Fall Party is the kick off of the holiday season for our family…and it’s a fun tradition. With a little planning it might just turn out to be your favorite family get together…
Happy Memory Making my friends ~ xo
Look at The Husband–quietly stoking the fire.

How fun! I have to say your beautiful new yard and patio looks like it was meant for your friends and family. 🙂 Julie’s comment above is very sweet. Happy Halloween!
Amber, thank you my friend xo
I love your pictures! But I have to say, I think the pictures of Spider Man are my favorite. They made me laugh! Get memories for you! Thanks for sharing.
Carolyn, isn’t that just hilarious!!!
that’s hysterical!! so fun!
Adrienne, isn’t it the funniest thing!? xo
You both did a great job…..as always! But I just have to know. How did you clean the bubble mess up? I am assuming it just kept running through the system?
Tammy, they eventually went away!!! No harm done, just lots of giggles 🙂 xo
Happy Halloween! The bubbles made me crack up again!
Happy Halloween to you too sweet Julia! Kids are always good for a laugh! xo
OMGeeeeeeeee…what great memories…esp. Spidey….that one made me LOL…that would have been something I could have seen my son doing at that age…he’s 27 now…a true boy in every sense of the word.
Sheila, isn’t it something that any little boy would think to do!!!? xo
Looks like a wonderful fall party! I’m sure the fire pit was a big hit with the cool temps! I love the idea of the pictures from past parties and the quilt on your table looks perfect. The bubbles are hilarious!! What fond memories!! 😀 I was wondering if you could tell me if the fire pit is a free standing one that your husband built around? I thought about getting my daughter and son-in-law one for their patio for Christmas. They plan to build a house in a few years though so I was hoping to get one they can use now and then build in when they move. I hope you understand my question. 😛 Thanks in advance Robin!! 🙂
Gina, thank you! I’ll double check with Mike about moving the fire pit but I know the metal inside was free standing and the stones are stacked and glued around it. All of it came from The Home Depot ~ xo
Thanks Robin!! 🙂 That answered it. 🙂
Hi Robin, I came by from Worthing Court and so glad I did! I’m your newest follower and can’t wait to get to know you more. We have many things in common-adult children, I have 11 grands, and we both are gluten free. I love your house-it is so warm and inviting! Can’t wait to go back and read past posts.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
Noreen, Oh my!!! 11 grandchildren! You and I have to talk soon about ways to be a good grand-ma! I’d love to hear about things that you do!!! xo
