One of my favorite things to do in the September is to put together my fall table setting.
One layer builds on another layer until the table reflects the season…warm, cozy and welcoming.
This year I’m using natural elements like these little pumpkins and gourds and rustic elements like burlap and wood chargers.
A centerpiece is important, I think a pretty centerpiece can set the mood at the table, just remember to keep it low enough to talk over!
My centerpiece for the farm table is so easy to create, I used fresh gourds and pieces of fall picks tucked here and there in my wooden trough, (you could use any low container that coordinates with your theme…)
If you’ve been hanging out with me lately, you know I’m loving Plaid for Fall. These plaid napkins are perfect for autumn but I’m planning to use them right through the Christmas season as well…
***Since I photographed this simple table setting, I’ve had questions about the leaf ornaments that I used for napkin rings…I purchased those at a floral supply store- but here are some similar ones: (affiliate links included)
Using a square of burlap instead of a full tablecloth allows some of the wood on the table to show, which I like! The burlap square and the burlap table runner are new, but they will also be used right through Christmas somewhere in the house! If I buy something new for my house I like to be able to use it for more than one season…
And like everything in design…layering is super important. The Husband made the wood chargers and the individual bread boards in a jiffy. I love the rustic feel they add to the table…This table gives a warm welcome…we hosted Sunday Supper last weekend and everyone loved it.
I did a quick video that shows a bit more!
And if it’s early fall and the weather permits…why not take your party outside! Add a few fall flowers and all the makings for S’mores and snuggle in front of the fire pit! xo
Sending love my friends

Robin, I love the container you did your centerpiece with. Did your husband make that as well or did you purchase it. If you purchased it can you tell me where and if he made it are there plans for it somewhere? My father-in-law does woodworking and I bet he could make it. It looks about 36 in long by about 6 inches high. Hopefully you can help. Thanks, Kim
Kim– Hello! About the trough box… Mike did make it! We don’t have plans but if your FIL does woodworking I bet he can figure it out!If he can’t make it for you, we have them in our Etsy Shop…Rustic Wood Innovation : https://www.etsy.com/shop/RusticWoodInnovation I’m so happy you like it my friend ox
