I’m so excited to be a part of ProFlowers~Wreaths All Year Project!
I’ve been thinking about making a faux succulent wreath for months. A few weeks ago, I put this one together and I kinda love it, so I wanted to show you guys!
I love succulents, don’t you? Last year, I made a Live Succulent Wreath HERE – That wreath was gorgeous…it looked happy and healthy for 10 months, then one day after I watered it, (they get heavy after watering), I hung it back up on the screen porch and the twine hanger broke…and it fell. The fall broke a lot of the succulents…after that, I’m afraid it was just all down hill … I finally took the succulents out of the moss base a month later and repotted them! (Most are still growing right here in my den!)
Ever since the wreath accident, I’ve been thinking about another succulent wreath, one I wouldn’t have to submerge in water every few weeks. One that was bigger…for the front door. A forever succulent wreath!
At Hobby Lobby the other day, I saw their pretty selection of succulents on sale, so I grabbed a bunch!
In February, I put out my moss wreath, (tutorial HERE) which is a grapevine wreath covered with various types of moss. I thought that wreath would be a perfect base for my succulent wreath!
If you want to make one…Here’s how I made mine!
*I started with a grapevine wreath covered in sheet moss. (tutorial HERE)
*Using lots of different fake succulents, I put them out on the moss covered wreath to see what pattern looked the best! (Flat flower like succulents make up the majority of my wreath & I added some succulent clusters for interest)
*I cut the stems down to 1 and 1/2 – 2 inches. (keeping them in place on the wreath, so I’d remember where to put them!)
*With scissors, I made holes for my plants (I didn’t need hot glue to secure mine because I had a good moss base-but you can easily add some hot glue in the holes!)
*I hot glued beautiful spring green reindeer moss, here-there-& everywhere to fill in and add interest…
I really love the way it turned out…
A little something different for the front door! I’m still working on my tiny porch, bringing in more flowers to celebrate warm weather-but I’m thinking the wreath will be welcoming friends for the entire season!
Have you guys started adding flowers to your space? It’s May and unseasonably cool here in the early mornings but I’m kind of enjoying it…
Sending love my friends

Good Morning Robin
I just adore your succulent wreath. Its so pretty, it doesn’t even look like the plants are fake, they look so real to me. I just may make one. I love succulents and actually just purchased some yesterday at Home Depot. Have a wonderful day today Robin
deezie
Deezie, I love succulents too!!! I saw some at my Home Depot too…they were beautiful! Thank you friend, as always for being so encouraging xo
It’s beautiful, Robin! And, it looks so real! The reindeer moss really adds a nice touch to it also. It gives me the feeling of being cool which is perfect for summer. My flowers are all planted as our spring has been 15-20 degrees above normal! Sending love, Eileen
Eileen, your flowers will look so beautiful, maturing before ours! We are having 80 degree days this week though, so my flowers should really bloom in the next few days xo
What a gorgeous wreath! For years I have wanted to make a real one but the squirrels eat them!!! This is a wonderful idea! Thank you sweetie!!!~~Angela
Ang, thank you friend!!! xo
Love the wreath. I have faux succulents in all my outdoor pots and arrangements. I just decided I loved the look of the real ones on my porch last year, but it was taking me far too much time to water in the dry hot AZ climate so I changed them all out and most people think they are real. I’ll post a picture on Instagram tomorrow…off to a Cinco de Mayo party.
Hi, I just love succulents too and your wreath came out so well. I love how it looks real and yet it is no maintenance after you make it. thank you for the inspiration.
Hugs, Lynnie
Thank you so much Lynnie! Hugs right back my friend xo

You were the one to teach me about succulents. I have them on my front porch steps in those little pitchers….
Thank You! Always learning from you! 🙂
