As you know, we’ve been doing this Summer DIY Project that has been the project that just wouldn’t end!(See more posts under: All Things Home DIY)
Most of our project utilized one of two things…
Behr Paint or fabric!
This little one-day side-project included both!
“I think we need new pantry doors” I told The Husband after I painted the old ones…
He glared at me.
In all fairness my “totally free” Summer DIY Project was proving to be just on the other side of free.
Nevertheless…these doors were in desperate neeeed…(old paint-old cabinets…)
First I painted the doors with the trim color…Behr Ultra Sandstone Cove.
Then I set my tiny brain in motion and told it to find a solution to my pantry door problems.
Here’s what The Tiny Brain came up with…
I took apart 2 new pillow cases so they were 2 longer pieces of single layer fabric .
(Pretty sheet sets are a great way to get fabric at really good prices!)
And added a tiny ruffle…then hemmed and ruffled the bottom part making a cute little curtain!
Then I hot glued my little curtain right to the glass in the pantry doors…
Remember the doors before? Very 80’s…
Much better!
A little fabric. A little Behr Ultra. And the door is as cute as a button!
~Love to you my friends~
Those pantry doors look great! I would have never thought of gluing the fabric to the glass… Very clever!!!
I just love your colors! Makes me want to re-do my entire house!
So…when your husband glared did he also get out his oxygen mask to stop the hyperventilating? Sheesh woman you make me tired but as the saying goes, “I love what you’ve done to the place.” 🙂 I am not much of a home decorator (okay make that zero of one) but you have done a beautiful job transforming your humble abode. Now pleeeeeaaaase rest before I have to find my oxygen too. Love and hugs today.

You are a miracle worker – would never have thought to glue curtain to the door – great idea and it looks great!!
OK Woman!!!!!! Does your brain ever stop creating ideas (make that clever and beautiful ideas)? Who else would think of creating something so nice from pillowcases?? The pantry doors look great as well as your entire house.
It’s a good thing you have finished re-decorating your house, otherwise I would suggest intervention.
Behr needs a Caution label on their paint cans……..
This product may be habit forming. Have another cup of coffee and tell us what your next project will be. Love, Sparkle Plenty~
What an ingenious solution! Love it!

Okay this I’m in LOVE with. You have a great mind.
And LOVE the Behr Paint too!
I have been following your DIY projects through e-mail. You have been an inspiration to me. We are in the process of moving a house and will have to fix it up. We are hoping to do it relatively cheap, but only one person knows how that will go. I have been enjoying your blog, thank you!!
Fun and painting have never been in the same category for me! Maybe Behr Paint with Primer will change that. Doors look great.
I’m entering again for today!

Love the pantry doors!! Will you do a home tour when your’re done??
No way dont stop now… next you will need to be painting the dog or something.. I know what its like painting the house.. I have been on that spree since we bought the Four Little Acres nearly 2 years ago… Paint is the cheapest way of revamping instead of hiring na Interior Decorator… and if the colour dont turn out right… paint paint paint again …tee hee.
Like everyone here I have adored your projects and have been pleased with my own try out of Behr Primer and Paint in One… I didnt think I would but I do like it…
Those little curtains are so precious. That extra fabric on the ruffles is just adorable. You are so gifted and so talented. Thanks once again for sharing your talent and inspiration. God bless
You have the best ideas! I am seeing you with your own DIY makeover show and Behr Paint will be the sponsor;) I know you are enjoying your “NEW” house.

I am in love with all the great ideas on your blog. You are one creative chickie lala! I am visualizing myself using the Behr paint and primer and painting my fugly kitchen cabinets. You have inspired me.
You are the only person on the planet that can use the words “fun” in the same sentence as “pantry” doors. Oh, and get by with it because they do look fabulous. You may have just given me the painting bug 🙂

Hi Robin, Your pantry doors are adorable! What a new house you have, not that the old house was anything short of wonderful!
I’ve been looking back on your older posts( mostly holidays), and just wondering if you have been thinking about how your new color scheme will work for Fall and Christmas? I know yours will be beautiful, but it is always something I must consider before I paint. How about you?
What a great idea! You are so creative. Love the hot glue. =D
Hey HGTV!!!! This woman needs a SHOW of her own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The doors look, as you said, cute as a button!!!!!!!! Ingenoius idea to glue the fabric onto the doors! How the heck did you think of that!!?? I thought they were on little rods! You are good, girl! Love, XO, Pinky
Love the pantry doors….
Those doors look great! Love the curtains!!

You have brought those doors back to life! Great job. I could sure use three gallons of Behr paint….I am constantly painting things around here. Lisa~
First of all, that Behr paint is fantastic! I got to use some a few months ago and haven’t stopped. Paired up with a Purdy brush & rollers, it’s a dream team!
I might have to get clever with pillowcases myself, but I can never find inexpensive pillowcases. I looked at some on clearance at JCPenney’s this week for $20 & $30! Crazy.
I love the way you just covered up those doors with an adorable print and especially how you just hot glued those little suckers right to the glass.

so would love to win this paint!
thanks, home depot, for the chance to win!
as long as i don’t have to sew, i might be able to handle painting. esp if it covers like you show it doing.

I adore what you did with your pantry doors, so creative
deezie
Great job! Almost makes me wish I had some ugly glass to cover!
Hello, Hope this works…been a follower for a long time, but you wouldn’t know that because I don’t have a blog and don’t know how or were to email.( I know, Duh!) But I do love all your projects and ideas, very creative. My hubby and I are starting to refinish some of our furnishings, we like the Country look, so your Behr paint will help a lot.
Keep on creating,
Roe
We just moved in. I need some paint!
Oops! I’m too late!
super cute! Love the fabric choices. Cute blog header too!

Hello
My name is Anahi. I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I love your curtain, I have a similar window of my room. I was not sure how to fix the glass, what did you use? What kind of support? I can not write, much less speak English well, so I put this text in the Google translator, I hope you understand. Thank you very much if you can answer me.
thanks
see you
Hi Anahi….I did nothing to the glass. Just hot glued the fabric (with a high-heat glue gun and glue sticks) right onto the glass. No support needed on my window but the fabric is there for good! Hope this helps! xo
Very clever solution, and much prettier than the old doors! This would even work if you didn’t have glass to cover…just wanted to spruce up some doors somewhere…will definitely keep it in mind. Thanks for sharing!
Hi,
I was wondering what your wall color is in your kitchen. You mentioned that the doors and trim are painted Sandstone Cove, but I love your wall color and would like to a similar color in my den.
Thanks!
Olivia
i love this! i want to do the same with my pantry =) where did you get the fabric from? will the fabric stay stuck to wood if i glue gun it? sorry, i’m new to all of this DIY stuff. thanks!
Kathleen…I bought a couple of pillow cases to use for fabric! And I used the glue gun and it’s working great! (Been up for nearly a year I think!)
I would like to learn more about antiquing and cottage styles
I LOVE this idea!! I want to do this, but…
I’m having a hard time figuring out how you cut the pillowcase to make one long piece of fabric. Did you cut down the side seams? But if you did that, how come I can’t see the seam )the one that would be on the short end of a pillowcase) in the middle of the pantry door?! LOL I’m so lost right now….
Jess
Jess, yes I cut the side seam, and there is a seam right in the center of both fabric pieces! I doesn’t really show with the gathers! xo
