Since the Fourth of July is just a couple of days away I thought I’d show you how I’m getting ready for our family cookout. It’s summer and I’m all about easy breezy … Here’s one of my tables.
Here’s another one…simple just sewed together some bandannas …
Here’s the other one…simple and easy.
I’ll be using paper products! I don’t usually use paper but for a cookout I like it!
I’m using my red, white and blue platters though! Not everything has to be disposable!
There will be salted peanuts on the back deck to give the men something to nibble while The Husband is grilling!
You know how I love party favors! For the Fourth I’m doing these cute Cracker Jacks…I just added some crape paper and these cute little windmills!
And look! My Moon Pies came from Amazon today! I’m making a Southern Living recipe…Banana Pudding with Moon Pies ! Sounds kinda fun huh?
Here’s the Menu…Recipe links to the underlined items…
Hot Dogs (Always Hebrew National!)
Squash-Vidalia Onion Casserole(Daddy requested this!)
Hearty Baked Beans(these have all the goodies, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, mustard and onion but also…bacon and ground beef!)
Potato Salad(Baby Sister’s bringing this)
Moon Pie Banana Pudding
Stephie’s Coca-Cola Cake
Easy breezy Fourth of July Cookout! I’m linking to Tablescape Thursday with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Susan had an amazing tablescape last week for the Fourth…much more beautiful than mine…head to her blog and check out this inspiring blog party!
Tomorrow I’m posting a yumalicious recipe that you may want to use for your cookout on the Fourth…Big Bodacious Blondie’s! See ya then Peeps!
Delicious food and pretty patriotic tables! Perfect!
Happy 4th of July!
I love your cracker jacks… and that Moon Pie Banana Pudding definitely got my attention. haha! I’d love to see how that turns out!
My mom sewed together bandannas like that and made a shower curtain (tied with rope for rings) for her western themed bathroom. Turned out really, really cute… I had never that about sewing them together for a tablecloth! Good idea! I might give that a whirl. 😉 Happy 4th!

Fun happy post! I tried something that Libby from Twirl and Taste suggested, and it was good. Heat those moonpies in the oven for six seconds per side and watch the center puff up. They are so good heated. Use the chocolate ones. They are GOOD!

Sheila 🙂

Looks amazing! You certainly went all out. I see you’ve once again used your awesome powers for good. Can’t wait to see it Saturday. You should really share your talents with your sister.

It looks very casual-chic Robin! I love how its the second of July and you are pulling things together already, this is my downfall! The menu looks so tasty and filled with 4th of July kinds of things. I have heard of Moon pies, but never had the pleasure of eating one. I can only imagine how wonderful the banana pudding would taste using them!

Moon pies…yum, yum, and they are double deckers. Can’t wait to taste the banana pudding. I will wear my Moon Pie hat.
All the decorations look great. I know the food will be delicious.
You are a most thoughtful hostess.

When shall I arrive? Moon pies. Haven’t thought of those in years! I loved them as a kid. This is so cute and vintage and Americana. Your guests will be very content with your hostess skills!

You ideas are awesome as usual! I love the Cracker Jacks. I might have to get some of those things for my celebration. So if you read this and respond before the 4th, I could use some ideas for a themed table decorating contest for the 4th of July celebration that I am going to in Dublin. The tables are in the middle of the high school football field. Every year we have a concert and then fireworks. This year I reserved a table and have no idea how to decorate. The theme that will be judged for originality and creativity reflection of the them “Red White Rhythm and Soul” – the bands are Boyz to Men and the Four Tops. Ideas?
Great table, happy 4th! :O)

Very nice job! I love cookouts.
I came back by to mention that I am hosting a Christmas in July Tablescape Party at my Playing Dishes blog. There will be one held each Saturday this month. Please come and participate or at least visit. A holiday tablecloth will be given away on the last Saturday, July 25. Info on signups is available by clicking my sidebar memes available on both my blogs.
I am also having a weekly Christmas giveaway at my Christmas Memories in My Heart blog. Weekly entries are closed out a midnight on Wednesday for this.
Hopefully some of you tablescape regulars will pull together a tablescape for CIJ or pull out some photos from last year to post.
Happy CIJ!
Hello,
I was blog surfing and came across your 2009 Fourth of July post. The first picture shows flags in three blue bottles. I love the vivid blue in the bottles. Where did you find the bottles? Are they readily available?
Thank you,
Denise C.
I’ve seen them in thrift stores but I got mine from a wine drinker! (I’m not one, but I think it’s a Riesling wine) xo
