The great-room is done, are you ready to see the great room before and after?!
Do you remember how it looked when we started?
Like all-things, remodeling comes in stages…We actually started with a room done in deep tones, then 2 years ago we lightened up….
The den was connected to the little library room…what would happen if we knocked a couple of walls out between those two room & made one larger room?
It was a big project from my point of view…but Max, our ah-mazing contractor (The King’s Carpentry) and The Husband thought it was no big deal…men.
So the great room during the remodel was bigger but a bit chaotic…
I don’t know if it was a big project or not, but Peeps, the results are HUGE!
Our wonderful contractor added built-in bookshelves on either side of the fireplace…
We’re so happy with great room before and after, I think the bookcase is my favorite thing!
Remember when I did the post on MyDeco? I used the online room design tool to figure out what furniture we’d need after we took the walls out…
I pretty much stuck to the plan I made on MyDeco, I’ll use it again, if ever I need it 🙂
(I forgot to take out the puppy-beds for this shot! Woops!)
Here’s the plan I had on MyDeco for the back of the room…
See those baskets? They’re full of toys for our sweet granddaughters…
The layout of the room worked great when we had a few of the kids and three of our granddaughters over to watch the Super Bowl. Elliot and Lucy Jean played on the rug in the back of the room without interrupting the game and Stephie was able to nurse Baby Finley in one of the comfy chairs in the back of the room maintaining her modesty while not having to leave the room Perfect!
We can move the leather chairs out a little when there’s a crowd and add loads of extra seating!
And when it’s just The Husband and I, it’s still very cozy.
My favorite thing in the room is the fun coffee table. (My post telling where we got everything: HERE)
The bookshelves that Max built are also a favorite thing…
This project delivered. Overall, it went fast and gave us everything we were looking for!
(At this very moment, The Husband is cutting adorable little cedar shingles, finishing up our latest project: the indoor closet playhouse! I can’t wait to show you!)
~Have a productive week my sweet friends~

Wow! It looks fabulous. The space is great and you did a beautiful job decorationg it. It’s not always easy making a large space homey and cozy but you have achieved it. I absolutely love the coffee table!! I bet it doesn’t even seem like your home. I’s say the dogs are happy to be finished too! 😉
It turned out lovely!
I love what you did…elegant but homey…just the right mixture of both. Could you please tell me what color you used on your walls? I love how it plays off the white and yet is not dark and depressing…good job
Dianne, I used Behr Ultra Paint w/ Primer in “Castle Path”, I love it. My daughter just put it on most of the walls in her house and she loves it too. xo
It looks fabulous Robin! I am a tad bit jealous of all of that wonderful SPACE! 🙂
What a great remodel! Everything looks beautiful.

What a beautiful home you have! A wonderful transformation. I just happened upon your blog because I was researching the Prelude Sofa by Ashley Furniture! How are you liking it and do you mind me asking if you purchased it from Ashely directly or another furniture store. I am trying to figure out how to get the best deal on it. Again you home is sooo pretty. I will be back to look around some more! Hope your Easter was a good one!
Pamela, I went to Woodstock Outlet here in Woodstock GA to get the sofa. I buy lots of things from them. I’ve had them for a couple of month now and I really love them. I got 2 chairs (Prelude) also and they are super comfy! (The color is one of the best neutrals I’ve ever seen don’t cha think???) xoxo
