I thought I had planned out my budget friendly guest room and that it would be a breeze to put together.
But I was wrong.
Below is the room after my first run-through before the stenciled walls… I didn’t love it but couldn’t figure out why. One thing that screamed for change were the tan sheets, but other than that I had no idea what to do.
So I lived with my original plan for a few weeks and asked my daughter Stephie what she thought. She made a few suggestions that helped me to get my creative process going. I ended up swapping the tan sheets for white ones and adding a lamp or two and found some really pretty wall art.
I also used my vintage suitcases as a table which is kinda fun don’t cha think?
This old milk glass lamp gives the room a warm glow…
I fell in love with this beautiful piece at Home Goods…is it supposed to be a window, or a cabinet door? I don’t really care it’s soooo pretty!
I cleared one side of the closet and left a few drawers empty so we’re ready for visitors! When can you be here!?!?
One last note…
The walls are painted with Behr Premium Paint with Primer in Silver Drop. The color palette for Stone House Lane is posted HERE.
I’m not really certain why this room gave me trouble but I’m pretty happy with it right now. Have you ever gotten stuck when you were putting a room together? (***UPDATE: I’m still changing up this room…I’ll post updates later!)
Pack your suitcase and hurry on over! But remember…you must love dogs 🙂
