Have you heard of Kiwi Crate? If not hang on to your hats, this is the best idea! It’s a delivered “crate” of at least 2 activities (arts and crafts) everything included. Included in your crate are cards or a booklet that provide fun facts about the the “subject” of the crate! Still don’t understand…stay tuned.
My friends at Kiwi Crate asked if they could send Ellie and I a crate to review! Both of us were so excited!
(See the end of this post to learn how you can win a Kiwi Crate for your little one!)
Before my review let me tell you a little about this company…Kiwi Crate was launched in 2011 by executives from eBay, PayPal, YouTube, and BabyCenter. Their focus is on kids 3 – 7. The deliver a crate containing at least 2 crafts and activities designed for fun and learning. Here’s a brief excerpt from a 2012 press release (HERE)…
“Each project is designed to encourage key developmental skills, such as problem solving, creative expression, gross and fine motor skills, and communication.”
Ummmm, as a busy parent or a grandparent looking for the perfect gift, can you ask for more?
Ellie loved opening her own mail and was so excited to look over the crafts…
And explain them to me…
The craft was simple so she could do most of it all by herself…
She’s making a firefly by the way (the subject of our crate is bugs!) and not only is he cute but he flies and he glows. Yes he really does glow! He slept on her night-stand and glowed pretty all night! (Do you want to see him fly???)
And as much as Ellie loved making her firefly, she loved sending him flying down a zip line even more!
Can you see him??? I told you he flies!
Weeeeeee…there he goes! She and Pop Pop did this thirty-eleven times!
We named our little firefly Freddy!
The next time Ellie came to spend the night, we painted butterflies, bees and caterpillars with sponges (all supplies included in our crate!) And after the painting we went over the learning cards that were included! Lots of fun facts about bugs!
This is honestly the best idea I’ve seen lately.

You can purchase the crates individually or in 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscriptions! Can you imagine how excited your little one will be watching the mail for a fun package every month?!

If the subscription is too pricey maybe you could drop a hint to Grandma for a one time crate delivery!
Ohhhh, I almost forgot, for the super busy mom, they even have adorable Party Favor Crates HERE!
And one more surprise! In the next two weeks Kiwi Crate is sponsoring a GIVEAWAY right here on All Things Heart and Home! So you’ll have a chance to win your little one a crate full of fun and learning!

Thanks, Robin. What a great idea! Thanks for sharing! Addison would love this!
Absolutely adorable! Both the idea and Ellie’s precious expressions. You know, these would be great for a kindergarten or first grade class to get children excited about science, art, just plain creativity!
Love it! A++ Gigi and Ellie!
