I have a laundry room inspiration board because we’re working on a little makeover in ours…
How are you my friends…we’ve had quite a stressful weekend. I’ll tell you more but first, the laundry room…
I love vintage linens and I wanted to use them as a jumping off point for my laundry room. My wall color is similar to the painted terra cotta pots…this wonderful blue/gray…in addition to the blue/gray I want to throw in just a touch of minty green against fresh-white bead board walls and cabinets. So that’s the inspiration-what do ya think?

We’ve been working on this all weekend while keeping a watch on two of our four pups…our two sweet boys have had a rough week. Sigh.
This guy…Boo, has been to the emergency vet twice last week. We are assuming it’s his back, he’s been in a lot of pain. Boo is almost 14 years old…
And our other boy, Ollie, had a seizure at 4:30 Sunday morning …I’ve never had an animal have a seizure, have you? It’s really scary.
Ollie was a rescue pup, so no one knows exactly how old he is…the vet believes he’s pretty old.
So we didn’t finish our laundry room project…we took care of our loyal friends, cried a little and prayed a lot…
Hoping this week will be better for both Boo and Ollie & that your week would be full of good things.
~Sending love~ xo
I’ve had a cat having seizures. So horrible and we had to have her put to sleep after three trips to the vet in three days. Poor kitty!
Eileen, It’s just traumatic isn’t it? I just can’t imagine if it was a person having a seizure. Such a feeling of being out of control…so sorry about your kitty xo
I hope they both get better!! It’s terrible when your pets don’t feel well.
Stacey, it really is terrible!!! I want to do something to help them…I just keep saying prayers. xoxo
I hope your pups are doing much better now. We have three beagles(had four). Our oldest, Norman, who we lost 2 years ago, had a seizure in the middle of the night once. We took him to the all night vet, they ran all kinds of tests, and never did find anything!! He never had another one!! Hopefully that will be the case with your Ollie. Norman also had disc surgery when he was 7. Had a herniated disc. I know how hard it is to see your pups suffering. Please know that I am thinking good thoughts and prayers are coming your way.
Oh Sue!!! Thank you for sharing with me! Ollie is part beagle / part Jack Russell …we almost took him but ended up talking to our vet on Sunday morning and they suggested we keep a record of any strange behaviors and if he has more seizures we’ll make decisions from there…I feel so encouraged that your Norman never had another one…and bless that pup, having surgery too!!! Our Boo is too old for that surgery and has a heart murmur on top of that so we’ll keep treating him with medication…thank you again for sharing Norman’s sweet story xo
I hope your babies feel better. Love the colors.
Thanks so much Elaine xo
So sorry to hear about your pups…been there done that with the seizures. My first little shih tzu, Morgie, had them and they were so scary. The vet didn’t recommend any treatment because she was 12 + and we did lose her several months after the first one. I surly hope that won’t be the outcome in your case. I’ll be thinking about you all.
Judy, it is so scary and I can’t help wondering what’s causing them…sigh. I’m so sorry about little Morgie. Our pups can’t tell us what hurts so it makes it so difficult doesn’t it…thank you my friend xo
Sorry to hear that your puppy is having seizures. We went through that with our rescue dog, Mitzi, for years. She passed away a year ago last May at the age of 17! The first time it happened, I had no idea what was going on. Mitzi’s seizures started when she was 3 years old. It is very frightening! We kept a close eye on her always. And, she had arthritis too. . So I understand how hard it is to watch your other pup be in pain too. Pain meds help a lot with arthritis. Fortunately for Mitzi, our other dog could sense when she was about to have one and let us know. Holding her down and stroking her back and talking softly to her helped quite a bit. Of course, they are wiped out after having one. It is so hard to watch our fur-babies have health issues! Thinking of you!
Genny, thank you so much for sharing this with me…it really makes me feel better to know that it happens and your sweet Mitzi lived for so long in spite of the seizures. xoxo
I’m sorry about your dog’s health problems. 🙁 One of our dogs had a seizure once but at the time my husband didn’t realize it and nothing became of it. She had a lot of health problems and was on five medications when she finally died from congestive heart failure. 🙁 Her health problems were the cause of some of the worst anxiety I have ever felt. 🙁 And I am not a natural worrier so anxiety is rare for me. Hope your babies get better. 🙂
Gina, I’m a worrier from the get-go. I have to intentionally let go of anxious thoughts and this past week has been a great exercise in doing just that. It’s hard to trust when I truly don’t have control…my vet did say that sometimes, a dog has a seizure and never has another one. ……ohhhh that’s what I’m praying will happen/not happen. Thanks so much friend xo
Sorry for your scares…We have a beagle that is about 10 years old now. Her name is Libby. Poor thing was having seizures quite a bit a few years back when I was feeding her the cheaper food, Purina. About that time the media was coming up with stories about dog food that seemed to be harmful. Well, I chose to upgrade her diet with Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance dog food. It is over twice the price of the Purina. I have too say though, she is about seizure free. I can relate to Genny. I would do the same for our poor girl. I found putting a cold wet rag to her forehead and neck, petting her and comforting her when it happened was the best I could do for her. It is a scary thing to experience.
Debra…that’s just amazing, that your girl is seizure free! We have our pups on the best food we can get because they’ve had tummy issues with cheaper food. I’ll keep in mind about the cold rag…thanks so much for sharing, I’m so amazed that so many pets have this issue. xo
My daughter’s dog has seizures. She has epilepsy. It is scary. Our pets are like family members and it’s hard to see them suffer.
Nancy, that’s so true. And our pets are helpless and depend on us…xo
Love your future laundry room picks and praying for sweet Boo and Ollie
Anita, thank you so much for the prayers friend – Boo had a really bad day today so we are so grateful for a whispered prayer xo
What a loving post. I’ll include your boys in my prayers this week.
Oh Robin, I am so sorry and hoping Boo and Ollie feel better soon. I love my pets I can’t stand when they are having a bad day, let a lone be sick.
Diana, thank you my friend. I’m exactly like you…I’m just “off” when my animals aren’t well …xo
I love it when people love their animals and treat them like children. I think dogs are the closest likeness to God, they love you no matter what and you are every think to them. Hope your pets are doing better. I had a dog that was about 13 when he. Started having seizures and it is soooo scary. I miss my ” Bear”
Laurie, you and I feel the same way about animals my friend. There is just nothing like them…sending love my friend ox
Saying some prayers for your Boo and Ollie, Robin. I know how helpless it makes you feel when you can’t do anything for them, except comfort them. They are part of the family and you suffer right along with them. Hope this week finds them doing much better!!!
I love the minty green color that you are using for your laundry room project! It has always been a favorite color of mine! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished project.
Hugs, my friend. Hang in there!
Eileen
eileen, I love that minty green color too! Thanks so much for the prayers…today was a really bad day for Boo …so the prayers are appreciated my friend xo
So sorry to hear about your little guys! Hope they get to feeling better.
Love your inspiration board. Can’t wait to see your laundry room!
Leslie
Thanks so much Leslie~ sending love my friendxo
The pictures of the boys–just breaks my heart. I’m praying for them. And you. And yours.
You have the heart of a nurturer, Robin. The heart of our Father.
Hope your fur babies get better soon. FWIW, I have older two Jack Russells. Aston, my girly girl pup began having seizures about a year or so ago. They don’t happen often, but I’ve found by talking softly to her and rubbing her, they don’t seem to last long.
She wakes up a little confused, but after about 10 minutes she’s back to her old self. The vet had asked me to video tape it when it happens, but to be perfectly honest, when it happens, my first thought is picking her up and talking to her.
The vet seems to think it may be related to her heart murmur.
In her case, it’s not happening often enough to warrant additional medications, so for now we are just monitoring her to to determine how often they are occurring, if they are happening more frequently, and if there is something that seems to set it off.
When I read this, I just had to write to you to assure you that some dogs have seizures often, with no apparent reason! Multiple vets examined our Lab-mix, and couldn’t find a reason for the seizures. Our dog lived half of his extremely long life! having them. We just petted him, talked to him, and stayed with him while it was happening,& when they were over, he was fine. So, stay positive, and know that it’s not always as serious as it looks/seems(just scary!). Take care!
Ohhhh Kat…thank you! It’s so scary but makes me feel so much better hearing about your lab! Ollie has been ok since the seizure…no more so far…xoxo
