Thanks to my friends at DecoArt for sponsoring this post
Mike and I host a BIG annual fall party on the last Saturday of October. This year will be our eleventh year!
Our extended family and close friends come over for pumpkin carving, barbecue, roasting marshmallows, and playing games. This year I’m super excited because the fall party will be on Halloween!
When my friends at DecoArt asked me to do a masquerade-inspired project, I thought I’d try a masquerade pumpkin to use at our fall party!
The best thing about this guy is his metallic purple and silver color and you guys are gonna love the product I used to give him his sheen!
I started with a fake pumpkin and this AMAZINGLY FUN DecoArt Metallic Lustre.
“Metallic Lustre is a water based – metallic wax that buffs to a brilliant shine.”
You simply put the wax on with your fingertip or a cotton cloth. (I like using my fingers because the heat from your skin softens the wax)
It dries in minutes and buffs to this beautiful shine…
After the purple was dry, I added some silver to the top and tapered it around the bottom…
The color is just so much fun even before I added all the finery-and speaking of the finery…
I used a Frosty the Snowman hat (found at a craft store) and added some peacock feathers and a cute mask.(

Isn’t he too cute!? I think this guy will definitely be making an appearance at our fall party…If you like pumpkin projects, you might like these…
