I have a new favorite thing to tell you about!
You’ve probably heard of it. But just in case…It’s a free online room design tool that allows you to put in specific room dimensions, add your windows, doors, fireplace and shelving. Then you add furniture groupings to see what works best.
The Husband had this idea right after our big family Christmas party, he wants to knock out the wall between our den and library room! Our family is growing and there were nearly 30 of us stacked on top of each other with little room to move.
Our friend, the contractor extraordinaire, Mr. Max, is starting the process in a couple of weeks! I want to go on record as saying: THIS WAS NOT MY IDEA! This project is all The Husband’s!
Anyhoo, we were trying to decide if we could use our sectional and other furniture or if we’d need to get different sofas. I found MyDeco and put in our room dimensions and in just a few minutes, I was playing around with the room design!
Here’s our first thought about the furniture: Getting new furniture…
Bedrooms...
Baths...
Baby Rooms...
Playrooms...
If you’re thinking about rearranging a room this year or even a big remodel I’d suggest you check out MyDeco. If you want more options however, HERE is an article about the top 6 online Room Design Tools!
Have a simply creative day my friends~
Oh my word, I have to check this out!!
This is amazing, and you have beautiful taste!
Our home is kind of on the small size compared to homes being built today, but I never feel cramped until the holidays come around! Though our children are only 6, 7, and 10, I told my husband that we will eventually need an addition off the kitchen for the future family celebrations, envisioning children-in-law, grandchildren, and great-nieces and nephews! Can’t start planning (and saving) too soon!
Thanks for sharing the idea, Robin!
Jeannine, that’s it exactly…when the holidays come around the house shrinks! xo
Oh how I love new stuff! I have not heard of this one at all… and yes, my own hubby will probably love this even more than me. How exciting to be planning a re-do project that will transform your space! Hugs sweetie!
How cool and so helpful! How exciting about making your den larger too! The wall of bookshelves will be fabulous, but will the husband let you paint them? 😉 We did this a couple of years ago (built in our garage and knocked down walls between it, a study and breakfast room and opened it up to our kitchen) and we have not regretted it! My husband has a large family and now our space works fabulously!! 🙂
Gina, I love that you let me know you’re glad you knocked out the wall!!!!!
And yes, he’s agreed to painting them! But he’s asked me to add a few darker tables here and there! Compromise! xo
Must check this out! Perhaps it will help keep me from waking up in the middle of the night with the sweats over worrying if there is any other possible way to rearrange our living room!
I have GOT to check this out! One suggestion: don’t forget an outlet on the mantle for Christmas lights!!!!! Thanks for the info! XO, Pinky
Can’t wait to show Ricky what his BFF is going to be working on!!
