Using these beautiful ornaments from Balsam Hill, I played around with the tree in my studio and did one Christmas tree three ways!
When I decorate any tree, I like to put all of my ornaments on a table…
I divide them according to color and or style…
Aren’t these gorgeous?
After I lay out the ornaments, I decide on my topper. For two of my three tree designs, I used a floral bush (as opposed to floral picks). A floral bush is much easier to work with since they have lots of picks coming off of one stem. Then I made a bow from the velvet ribbon. (Also from Balsam Hill…soooo pretty!)
I added some soft silvery green lamb’s-ear here there and everywhere…
Then looped some ribbon to tuck into the tree…
And finally the ornaments!
That’s the first version of this tree…
For the second version of the tree, I just changed up the ribbon. I like the look of the ribbon cascading down the tree…
For the third look, I made a garland from my lamb’s-ear picks…
This is a bit more labor intensive but it’s easy, just wire the picks together and bend to make the desired shape…
For a little extra, I added ribbon above the garland and tied a bit at the peaks…
Really, no matter how you style your ribbon and garlands, if you use beautiful ornaments your tree will be stunning…
It was fun doing one Christmas tree, three ways. I think I like #3 but next time I’d add a topper in addition to the bow!
Enjoy your day my friends~ xo
Robin, I love lambs ear I would have never thought to use that in a tree. Great job!
You are so talented my friend. I love all 3. I think number 3 is my favorite and I might try to do that today with one of my trees
