I’m late posting my February Organizing Goals…that’s because I’ve been putting it off. I knew my project would be my paint supply room…which has turned into my paint and gardening supply room
The Husband moved most of his tools down to a little wood working shop in the basement and he left me with the paint room! But over the past 9 months this little room off the garage that I first called the paint room, has gotten reallllllly messy!
But the time has come to organize this space once and for all…Here’s a peek at my inspiration for this upcoming project…
My room isn’t nearly as cute as this one…
What about the painted peg board on this wall? I love love love it!
Okay…this is only a dream. But really wouldn’t this be sooooo nice?
And this rustic potting shed is kinda wonderful too isn’t it?
I’m hoping to simply incorporate an idea or two from these gorgeous spaces into my February project. Do you guys have any organizing tips for your gardening supplies?
February is a short month and I’m late getting started…this should be interesting. Wow.
~Sending you wishes for a weekend full of light-hearted moments my friends~
Oh to have a beautiful and tidy potting room. I share space with my husband’s tinkering tools and equipment. It’s too small for the both of us, thus…a challenge. Looking forward to seeing how you organize!
Jojo, it’s a challenge when my husband and I share space too…even the bathroom vanity! :0
Oh Robin, I could die in total peace if I had that 1st shed and it was organized like that. Love beyond words! Thanks for letting me dream.
Diana…I KNOW!!! Isn’t it the best little space!? xoxo
I’ve been holding out for a little garden shed for years. I accidentally drop building plans and magazine cut outs near my husband’s office from time to time. I’ll have to show him how adorable this one is….we could build that together in a weekend, right?
Celesta, You have to have your hubby make one!!! And show me the process!!! Go to that link with BHG and look at all the photos of that shed…I would just live out there! xoxo
I’m thinking…..The Husband might have another project coming up. He could (and I’ll verify this with his BFF) but I believe he could construct you a little garden house just like this!!!!
Add it to his list. 🙂
Julie, I just don’t know that we have room in the back yard…but YOU do!!! 🙂
By paint, do you mean house paint? If so: I would think the best paint storage would be something that lets you see – quickly – the color of the paint, and the date of it’s use. And when it should be taken to the haz-mat place because it’s too old! This goes for spray paints as well as regular quart/gallon sized cans of latex or stains.
Next – the painting supplies – you could peg board the roller frames, but not the brushes or roller covers: they don’t like dust. So those need to go in some sort of box or drawer.
Lastly – places for tapes, tarps, rags, and all the other things that go into a first class paint job.
In terms of plants and gardening: The first picture looks like it has a very good counter for potting, watering, etc. That’s what I crave more than anything – a work surface at the right height, that allows me to scoop soil and amendments, and re-pot the plants. Without getting a hernia!
None of the pictures have any larger implements like wheelbarrows, mowers, or tillers. Have you seen any clever ideas for “parking” these items?
Mrs. Vallejos, you have some GREAT ideas!!! I love the peg board for rollers and I can do my little shovel and the other gardening/yard tools on the peg board too! I’m not certain that I’ll be able to incorporate a potting bench in there…a bench is on my project list for spring/summer and I’m going to put it somewhere outside…but I think I’ll keep a table in the room so I can paint small things on top of it…hummmm, and the larger yard items are a problem for us..We park the lawn mower in a corner in the garage, the wheelbarrow is standing up under the lower deck…not ideal!
You’ve given me so much to think about and I hear that tomorrow is going to be warm so it’ll be pleasant!!!!!
Thank you bunches
xo
Robin
Everything you come up with is awesome…I’m excited to see the finished project!
Tell Mike his BFF has a hint for him.
He says to just go to Home Depot, and they have these cute little houses all ready. Being handy, Mike will only have to put it together–which his BFF says he can handle easily–no need to pay to have it built. 🙂
And isn’t there a tiny little spot somewhere in your yard for this? It’s adorable. Mike’s BFF thinks YOU should have one.
Julie, I’m going to tell Ricky’s BFF but I fear his reaction to me suggesting another project!!!!! 🙂
How cute! I once had a potting bench, now I have a couple of shelves in the corner of the garage for my pots, tools, and various kinds of soil. Now I see one of your secrets of organizing: thinking and dreaming about how you’d like the space to be.
Mary, it’s so true! I dream and over-think every project!!! xo
These photos are great inspiration 🙂
