One of our granddaughters, Hartley, turned one in May! My daughter Bethany put together an adorable birthday party with a Windmill theme done in bright rainbow colors…
Hartley wore the cutest rainbow color skirt…
I didn’t take any of these photos…Bethany had her friend Cindy, ( Posh Photography,) taking pictures!
The colors were so bright and cheerful!
Bethany made the party hats…
The food was all fun-food. Chicken fingers from Zaxby’s – Hamburgers and Hotdogs and fries from The Varsity…
And yummy marshmallow kabobs!
And fruit for the healthy eaters!
Bethany made cookies and put these adorable pinwheel toppers on them!
She made a large rainbow cake for everyone to share…
And a tiny rainbow cake for Hartley to enjoy all to herself…
All the guests signed this book with a little love note to Hartley. I love this idea.
There was a pinwheel pinata full of tiny candy and toys!
Even Sadie Sue, Hartley’s pup, wore her rainbow collar for the birthday party!
It was a perfect day.

I have always loved pinwheels! What a great theme for a birthday party! I agree with Julie. You and your girls could design a magazine. You are all blessed with such a creative talent.
I too love the idea of a birthday book. That is something Hartley will cherish forever.
Enjoy, relax and breathe in plenty of that salt air!

Hi Jocelyn! My daughter made them with simple cake mixes and food coloring…I’m not exactly certain of how many mixes and how much food coloring though- Have you googled rainbow cake? I think you will find exact directions somewhere. I’m so sorry I don’t have them for you~ Good luck my friend xo
Thanks, Robin – no worries! I love the mini rainbow cake 🙂
