My oldest daughter, Bethany, ran the Chicago Marathon today! I’m so proud of her. She’s run it before, but today she ran it injured. She has injuries on one leg that kept her from her last 4 weeks of training. But Bethany was so determined. She was running on behalf of my brother, her Uncle David and benefiting the American Cancer Society. (Her Dr. told her to take 6 or 7 hours to finish…walking much of the time)
She finished in under 5 hours, having to stop every mile and stretch her leg for the last 10 miles. She said every time she thought she would have to stop because her leg hurt so bad, she thought of Uncle David and how hard much he went through with his cancer.
I’m so very proud of Bethany and I know that over time and space, David watched her and he’s proud too.
