I asked The Husband to build me a couple of rustic side tables and he did!
I wanted them for both sides of the fireplace and thought it would be great if the shape was similar to the farm table in the eat-in kitchen, since the space is pretty much connected…
Here they are!
The top is made from wood salvaged from a historic building in Atlanta GA, one of the few buildings that was not burned by General Sherman during the Civil War…
The building was torn down a few years ago and the wood beams sold. We were able to get some of those beams and are using them in special projects…
There are two of these little beauties, one on either side of the fireplace…
I think aged pallets would look great as a top for a table like this! It wouldn’t be as thick but then again it wouldn’t be so heavy either! (if anyone is interested I can put together a little DIY tutorial for the table!)
That’s what we’re up to this week…what kind of mischief are you getting into?
Fabulous tables ! They look amazing !
Hi Robin
Your new tables are beautiful, your husband always does amazing work. Enjoy them

LOve the tables!
I love them I wish my hubby was talented in wood working. But we all have different gifts.
Oh my did hubby ever do a fantastic job! I love them.
Love them!!! I want to see a wide view of the tables and fireplace together. I’m a visual kind of person!
Smitten as usual- and love the source of the wood! Am being faced with deciding what to do with so many of my father’s hand made pieces- too many for me to keep- but hard to let go of too.
Wow Robin those look fantastic! And I love the history behind the wood that was used….tell the husband great job! Take Care Betty
I also really like the history behind the wood. Nice job on the tables!
Thanks so much Kathy xo
Hi Robin. Those are awesome! That hubby is talented!! He’s a keeper, huh?
Julie, YES!!! What a guy he is! ox
Anything with the word “rustic” means I’ll love it. And you’ve put the best collections on and in them! Just perfect.
These tables are awesome. Last summer my husband made an outdoor coffee table out of treated lumber similar to these and I love it. This week I reported on Disney’s new family resort in Hawaii. Yep, I said Hawaii.
I also bought a moss ball and I’m going to make a topiary similar to yours. I’ll be sure to review your tutorial again. Thanks for the inspiration.. Karen-www.makeitfixitplanit.com
Karen, Hawaii! Oh how amazing!!! And an outdoor coffee table is such a great idea! xo
