I have the cutest project today…seed pot baskets!
Sweet little seed pots are everywhere this time of year…pick some up and make a few of these little Easter baskets using watered down craft paint to give them a dreamy washed effect…
The video shows you how I made these little baskets or scroll down for the written tutorial!
You’ll only need a few things…
*Seed pots
*craft paint/brush
*mod podge/brush
*wire/pliars
*ribbon/hot glue
*graphic of bunny/tissue paper to print on
*straw
*something fun to tuck into the basket
***First find a graphic online of a bunny…I love Graphic Fairy for free graphics or check Etsy for downloadable graphics that cost next to nothing!
***shrink your graphic to the correct size, I tested mine on copy paper before printing on tissue paper…
***tape a piece of tissue paper onto a piece of copy paper and print your image-cut around your image …
Add a small amount of craft paint then using your brush, water down the paint and dab onto the seed pot.
Dip your brush in water and drip and dab drops of water onto the painted part of the pot to water down the color you just painted on…
Work with your colors to get them muted and watered down and fading into one another…(my youtube video shows exactly how to achieve this effect if you’d like to see)
Put a layer of Mod Podge onto one side of the pot and lay your graphic on top of the glue…now paint a coat of Mod Podge on top of the graphic and on the other sides of the seed pot to give the pot a little more strength…
Hot glue the ribbon around the top of the pot…
To make the handle make an arch with your wire (if you have flimsy wire double or triple it)…wrap ribbon around wire-folding the wire at the ends to keep the ribbon in place…
Punch holes on the sides and thread wire through – bunching it up on the inside to keep the handle in place…
Now add something fun! I put styrofoam, straw and some pretty flowers in this basket…
For this basket I used the grapevine covered wire as a handle and added some spring free twine to give it color…then moss made the perfect cushion for my little air plants…
This is my whimsical basket with pastel feathers and a tiny chick…
And this one has some ittie bittie eggs tucked inside… (if they were chocolate eggs, this would be even more exciting!!!)
These are perfect decorations for Easter or give them as gifts!

These are so great! They turned out AMAZING! Love that you can’t even tell they were that origional peat container. Nicely done. I’m thinking I need to make some for sweet Easter gifts.
Simply adorable. I am always looking for ways to use the peat pots. Love the idea of the paint and graphic.
