Hello my friends! I’m doing a flashback today because Emma and Lucy Jean were staying with us for a couple of days and I spent time away from the computer 🙂
Like all weddings, Southern Weddings are full of charm. Today I’m going to show you a few photos of my daughter and SIL’s wedding. Bethany and Darren wanted a outdoor wedding in a place that felt beautifully southern. They settled on Wide Awake Plantation in South Carolina. I think the lazy river and the gorgeous Live Oaks won them over.
The lanterns were a beautiful touch…
She wanted this little set up….vintage fabric and chair for photo-ops!
Turned out pretty special I think and fit in with the ‘southern wedding ‘ theme.
****LOTS of emails come in every year about Bethany’s dress! Here’s the 411! It’s Marisa by Tamara Kristen
The flowers Bethany used were soft pink hydrangeas, pink dahlias, and pink peonies…
I caught a tiny spotted guest on my menu!
All the dinner plates were ones we found at antique stores…all different and each with their own story~the different china would be wonderful for a baby shower too!
The place-cards were adorable birds nests with tiny birds tucked inside~a cute parting gift and could be used as a Christmas ornament later on 🙂
Bethany put a tiny veil on hers…
And a tiny top hat on Darren’s!
Bethany put vases with the hydrangeas inside the bird cages…
Little votives wrapped with brown ribbon were scattered here and there on the tables~
And a dahlia here and there just because!
I love this little plate…
Everyone had a wonderful time at dinner…and the skys were blue~No rain in sight!
The bar was outside of the tent~We found this window frame and thought it would look great in the big oak!
And here’s the candy table!!! Darren and Bethany had their engagement pictures put in a book at Snapfish! (Kyle Hale took the engagement pics and the wedding photos! We think he’s utterly awesome!)
Bethany ordered most of the candy online…it’s amazing what you can get online!
Tiny cupcakes of all kinds were the other dessert!
We found some vintage dessert plates too!
Had to use a little milk glass!
There were toasts and an amazing slide show and then when the sun went down…we just danced…(Notice Kyle…he can dance, eat rock candy, sip wine and take great pictures all at the same time! I have pictures to prove this but I’m afraid to post them until he goes through and deletes any bad pics of me on the dance floor!!!) Emma, Trey and Jamie really danced!!!
Darren & Bethany left to sparklers !
It was an amazing begining to a wonderful life…I hope maybe you get an idea or two for an upcoming party you may be hosting! Love to you my friends…
Stunning! I love all the little details that it made it so special. The bride was so beautiful. I know you are so proud and thankful. Isn’t Charleston wonderful? I am headed there next week to spend a few days with my daughter. 🙂 Congratulations to you and your daughter!

What a beautiful outdoor wedding! I got married last summer in June in the gardens at the Historic Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. We were married under a 200 year old Osage Orange tree, had the big white tent for the reception, a candy bar, a southern supper, etc…this reminds me of my wedding! Your daughter’s dress was beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing photos of your daughters wedding. My daughter got married a couple of months ago and we had lots and lots of rain but everyone had a great time in spite of it. Her wedding was at Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, GA. She too wanted the southern plantation style wedding and outdoors of course. At the time of her wedding all the azaleas in the area she had chosen for the ceremony were in full bloom and a beautiful pink color. We couldn’t even get the tent in the area where she wanted to have the ceremony. Well, we managed everything but the outdoor part.
Your daughters gown is gorgeous and she is beautiful also. I wish them a Happy Lift together.
