(From my iPhone photos)
Early one morning after a night of terrible storms I hit the road for a walk. Excited to breathe deep the fresh after-storm air, I also wanted to check out any damage in the neighborhood after hours and hours of strong winds and sideways rain.
Rounding a curve I saw a line of Bradford Pear trees, their delicate snow-white blossoms artistically adorning the tips of each and every branch.
‘How did these blossoms remain intact during that storm’ I wondered as I grabbed my phone and snapped a picture.
The answer came as quickly as my next breath: “I made them stronger than they look”.
Stronger than they look.
I know lots of people like that.
For the rest of my walk I thought of all my friends and family who are living through raging storms. So many delicate hearts in danger of destruction.
Are you one of them? Are you hurting, lonely or afraid? Does your world feel dark and dangerous right now?
Hold on Sweet Ones…hold onto Him.
I believe He’s made you strong.
Stronger than you look to everyone else.
Stronger even, than you look to yourself.
And your storm that rages fierce… it won’t last forever.
And if you aren’t battling a storm right now…in your season of sunshine and gentle breezes, don’t forget those who walk about in darkness today. Take a moment to lift them, bruised and battered, to The Father.
~Sending you love and prayers, for your delicate, stronger-than-they-look hearts my friends~
