A few years ago I helped with a friends wedding and drilled out some little orange pumpkins and put tea lights in them…I’m thinking about doing that again for my Fall Party coming up this weekend…
This is our 8th Family Fall Party…most years we’ve had a pumpkin carving contest. One year we did a chili cook-off.
This year the boys are having a corn-hole tournament and the girls are doing a couple of crafts with the little people…
We always take a family picture-here are a few of them…
Anyhoo, I’m busy as a beaver getting ready this week and I was considering taking The Husband’s drill-popping off the stems on some tiny pumpkins and drilling a tea candle size hole…
This little project takes no time at all. Unless you’re drilling out buckets of pumpkins like I did for the wedding!
But let me tell you… tiny pumpkins glowing all over a table…
are absolutely gorgeous.
Will you be doing any parties this fall? I’d love to hear about them!
Sending up a prayer for you to have joy in your journey today my friends…
Your table is gorgeous with those lovely pumpkin lights. Can’t wait to see the photos from the fall gathering in your new stone cottage.
I sure am going to miss the fall party this year and your family! I’m sending lots of love to all of you!!
That’s a great idea and a safe one.
Your photos are so pretty! How fun to have such a big family to come and gather round for some fun! I’d never even heard of corn hole until I started reading blogs 🙂 Can’t wait to see this year’s pics! Blessings on your busy week!
The tea lights in small pumpkins is one of my favorite ways to add soft light to a fall get together! So lovely!
Thanksgiving will be at our house this year — so I’ll be preparing with my niece — comfort foods and pretty decor coming up!
Love your idea, Robin, but I would use the battery-operated tea lights for the safety of your little ones. They can be placed anywhere. I’ve seen them boxed as a dozen at Target, Kohl’s and Hobby Lobby. Happy drilling!
Gor-gee-ooo-soo! I love it!
We’re getting together here on Halloween night.
And by the way, I told Ricky you were buying more pumpkins to decorate with. He said you’d “poked the bear” and he ran outside and put his antique water fall beside the fall arrangment he’d built and said he was buying MORE pumpkins. 🙂
What a fun family get together!
No parties here, except for maybe a dinner party, I hoe to pull off. We were supposed to do Thansgiving but my daughters in-laws aren’t doing well and don’t want to travel here so she is having it. Have FUN at the family party. XO
What a special time with your family every year!! I’m sure you’re so excited to be in a larger home with more space this year. 🙂 I love the tea light idea. As far as I know we don’t have anything going on this fall at our home but we have had get togethers in the past mostly to watch football games and visit when our daughter comes home. She always wants to see EVERYONE so we host so they can come here. 🙂 She won’t be home this fall (we just got back from visting her in NoVa)not even for Thanksgiving. 🙁 She must go to her in laws. 😉 Hope you have a fabulous time with your family and make more wonderful memories. 🙂
