My friend Sharon from Mrs. Hines Class is sharing her heart and inspiration for fall today… I love the sense of family that Sharon brings to everything she does. Welcome Sharon!
And, I’ve let my thoughts drift to what I hold dear about Fall.
Such as time with family, and time to pause, reflect and be thankful.
Thankful for the soft, cozy feeling of fleece lined sweatshirts on my skin.
Thankful for holiday cheer and cozy socks and my collection of Christmas with Southern Living books filled with delicious recipes.
For family traditions, memories of thanksgivings past, and thoughts of thanksgivings to come.
And, cravings of Mom’s cornbread dressing smothered in giblet gravy.
Entertaining, fussing over the details so that guests feel at home. Like greeting my guests at the door, and having a place for their coats.
And, keeping the centerpiece simple so that conversation can flow…
Making sure all of the dishes are clean and ready, even setting the table the night before.
Having appetizers set out for guests to nibble on until it’s time to hang up my apron and gather ’round the table.
We pass the potatoes and sip on sweet tea. There’s storytelling and laughter and new memories made.
Then, hugs and goodbyes ’til next time.
And when it’s all said and done, yes, I’m finding that just like my beloved Summer, there’s a lot to hold on to in the Fall.
See you in class,
