I told you yesterday that I’d show you how I made these little woodland trees for the porch centerpiece! They take about 3 minutes and cost under $3.00! But hey, if you’re like me you’re done with decorating, so why would you need to make another decoration? You don’t!
But if you’re planning a party between now and Christmas, these little trees would make adorable favors!
You don’t need much to make these little cuties. For two of the trees you only need: paper mache cones, fuzzy yarn and twine!
If you use jute twine you get a woodland look, if you use red and white baker’s twine you get more of a candy cane vibe!
Making the tree is as simple as gluing the end of the twine and fuzzy yarn to the top of the cone and wrap around and around until the cone is covered.
I wrapped the red and white twine in a more uniform pattern…
…then add a little pom pom at the top of the tree!
(Look at this cute candy cane candle I made by gluing candy canes around a glass candle holder)
And look how cute these would be for party favors…
If you like a more woodland theme, use jute twine and white fuzzy yarn and when wrapping it around the cone use a random pattern…just wrap it up-down-all around…
The random pattern gives a different look…
Wouldn’t they be perfect for party favors?
And one more fun little project! This works well on a Styrofoam cone too!
Just use a low heat glue gun to glue marshmallows onto the cone…
After I finished these I sprayed them with a clear top coat to keep the ants away 🙂 And while it was still damp I sprinkled some fake snow all over –
I’d love to hear your ideas on what to give as party favors!
