“True friends are always together in spirit.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
I’ve told you before that my online friends are real friends, with me in spirit all the time. And it’s sheer bliss when those online connections become face to face friends!
Sheer. Bliss.
Last week I shared the better part of the day with my precious friend Vicky. I have to tell you, she’s exactly what I knew she would be. It wasn’t at all like ‘meeting’ someone. It was standing in the same space with this person who already shares such a big part of my heart. She walked in and I thought: finally, I get to hug you in person!
For those of you who love Vicky and read her blog, Westra World, I gotta tell you, she’s as sweet of a spirit as you think. Her voice is soft and serenity surrounds her. Isn’t that just what you imagined?
We talked the afternoon away, me and my friend. We talked about every subject you can think of… stories about growing up, how very much we miss Sara, how Vicky’s cancer treatment is going…even our bucket lists.
It was one of my best days.
(I also got to meet all of Vicky’s men…Super Man (Vicky’s Hubby, Rick) and those handsome boys. Again, it was like I’d known them forever)
I don’t really understand the dynamic but somehow caring about and praying for someone makes them a part of your heart and keeps you always together in spirit.
Do you have any connections like that?
“Always together in spirit,” rings true to me! Its really a delight to read from your perspective. I treasure the time I had with you! Thank you, a million times over, for flying across the country to see me! I wish you the happiest of birthdays! Love you!
Vicky, I treasure the time too…love u
I’ve heard it said that meeting bloggers for the first time is like talking to old friends you just haven’t seen for a while. You both have shown how true this is. I am so happy for both of you that you finally got to meet and share a hug in person.
Here’s hoping Robin, that your birthday is full of all things heart and home! Happy Birthday, my friend. xxxooo
Eileen, it’s so true! I’d love to meet you face to face sometimes!!! xo
I have had the pleasure of meeting a couple of my online friends and can attest to what you are talking about. There is something that happens when two people/hearts are united in a common faith. I have this sneaking suspicion (at the risk of being taken wrong) that you and i would talk the say away also (just don’t ask me about crafty things though). LOL
Bill I know you and I would talk the day away like old friends. And noooo craft talk, but I would bake something! 🙂
How sweet. Glad everything went perfectly and you were able to meet face to face. 🙂
Gina, xo
Such a story of frienship! Crossing so many miles to connect hearts and souls, and discovering how precious each other really is–and to hug in person. 🙂
xoxo
