When we moved into our new (old) house 2 years ago, we brought a once loved TV Console with us. The piece that was a perfect fit in our old house great room, now stood out of place, in our new house master bedroom.
Until I opened a gallon of Behr Marquee Paint!
If you have a minute, Id love to show you the TV Console before and after…
Here’s the console at our old house after we remodeled our great room (HERE).
We didn’t need a television console in the den of the new house (the TV is mounted over the mantle), so we put the cabinet under the television in the master bedroom. The shinny-stained piece was completely out of place among the painted furniture and white bedding…not to mention, we didn’t need it to hold a DVD player, router or gaming system like we did when it was in the great room. So that TV console ended up empty and dusty…ummm, it was dusty because I pretended it wasn’t there and completely ignored it! Do you ever just ignore something that bothers you in your house? Welllll, I do. And often times it pays off, because out of nowhere I’ll get an idea!
Which is exactly what happened with this cabinet! While working on another project using 4 GORGEOUS Behr paint colors (can’t wait to show you next week!), I fell in love with Behr Marquee Whipped Mint … isn’t it dreamy?!
Yesterday I got a bee in my whipped-mint bonnet and picked up my foam roller, 2″ angle brush and opened that dreamy paint…
And just like that! My boring TV Console went from annoying to the amazing! (at least I think so 🙂 )
Taking off the doors and adding some pretty baskets make the cabinet useful. (The baskets are perfect for holding puppy blankets).
If this were in the den I’d put the cable box inside one of these little cubbies but since this is in the bedroom, we watch TV in bed and need the cable box to be up higher so it’s not a struggle to use the remote when we’re lying down!
Really my friends…the difference a little paint can make on a tired piece of furniture is miraculous!
This piece was stained and had a shiny top coat…nevertheless, I did not sand it. Did you hear that? I did not sand at all! The Marquee paint is amazing, wait for it…even better than my first (paint) love, Behr Premium Paint with Primer! And if you’ve been hanging out with me for very long, you know that Behr Paint has it’s very own Category on my blog: All Things Behr Paint with Primer HERE!
This new Behr paint is the : “most advanced interior paint and primer ever! MARQUEE Interior is a stain-blocking paint and primer that delivers high-performance one-coat coverage with every color in the exclusive MARQUEE Interior One-Coat Color Collection”.
The whipped mint is the most dreamy mix of green with a touch of blue…
It adds a little bit of cheer to my master bedroom…
Early next week, I’ll show you what else I’ve been painting with Whipped Mint and three other beautiful Behr Marquee paint colors!
Have a colorful day my friends xo
