Hey Everybody!
I thought for a moment that for the month of July, since I was taking a blogging-lite schedule, I would reeelax and read and write more than usual…
Then I started the project I’ve been playing with for months.
I’m lightening up my life…although I love Autumn colors and rich wood tones, I’m weary of living with them.
I wanted to lighten up everything. And I do mean everything.
I started smallish when I discovered Behr Ultra Paint with Primer. I love Behr paint but adding primer promised to cut my painting in half…if it worked! And boy did it work! I fell in love with this darn paint. In many cases, depending on what you’re painting over (light or dark colors) it covers beautifully in ONE coat! (If you want to see these project with some detail, check the pull-down menu under: All Things Home DIY and All Things Behr Ultra Paint with Primer !)
But I’m going for a big finish…
I’m painting my den including all the paneling and trim…
The wall color is called: Castle Path and the trim/panel color is Sandstone Cove…
The foyer and up the stairs and upstairs hall have to be done too…including the doors…yikes.
Oh, and remember when I REPAINTED my kitchen just the other day…
From Red…
To this..
well, I’ve been up since 1:30 this morning and it’s almost repainted AGAIN!
Can’t wait to show you how I’m reinvented our living space with a little fabric (I made some easy curtains) and some paint…(you know how I love Behr Paint with Primer!)
Soooo, if you need me, I’ll be painting…
xo
So glad that you are not painting the room the color of that handle. If so, and since you are up to neck in paint, we would have to call you “SmurfGirl!” Yikes! Now…take a break. You make me tired. 😀

I only wish I had the nerve to do what you are doing!! My paneling and woodwork are very dark and some days it is downright depressing. Like being in a cave. I am not so sure my paint job would look as good as yours.
Have a great day and take short breaks in between cans and rooms finished.
Where do you get ALL this energy?
Love ya~
Bless your heart, Robin!!! Having just painted our entire house when we moved a few month ago, I can relate. I just wish I had known about the Behr paint with primer before we started! We had to prime and then paint every single room – I just couldn’t take all the orange walls with red trim….way too chaotic for me! But, doesn’t it feel just divine when you get all finished….all the soothing colors of your own choosing….the fresh, blank canvas you created as a backdrop for your home??? Looking forward to seeing the transformation. Don’t overdo!!!

OH my goodness, it is all looking fabulous. I can’t wait for a complete home tour and see all your new colors. Hugs, Marty

you are on a tear, woman! it all looks great, and my parents did the same thing to their wainescoating when they were sick of it. never regretted it, and i doubt you will either.
i would LOVE for you to come do a consult for me about my kitchen’s paint color. i’m SERIOUS. could i entice you if i made you a yummy lunch? let me know…
Jenn, I’m terrified of giving out advice! What if you don’t like it!!!
But just the same, I’d love to weigh in and LOVE to see you!
xoxo
If I could just get my downstairs painted I would be THRILLED!!!!!!!!!! Hubby and I just spoke about this last night. I have got to get MOVING!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to see it ALL!!!! Take a break, have a nice cool glass of SOMETHING:):):) XO, Pinky
I need some of your mojo! We did a home remodel last year and hired a painter for the remodeled section but I still need to paint a couple of rooms and a bunch of woodwork and trim, etc. I just need to DO IT! =P I have painted several pieces of furniture white though. :)Can’t wait to see your results.
Robin! We have the same brain! I’ve been painting all weekend too- What is the red color? Do you remember? I’m painting my kitchen red and love the way that looks. Red is a hard to color to paint.
I will love you forever if you remember the name of it and the brand.
Michelle! I would love to see pics!!! Email them to me!

The color is Roasted Red Pepper by Sherwin Williams. I did my kitchen and my front door in that color years ago. I had the Sherwin Williams paint “card” (sample) matched and used Behr paint. That was before the AMAZING Behr Paint with Primer. I only use Paint with Primer now.
BUT…I think I remember that Sherwin Williams has changed some of the color names and there may not be a Roasted Red Pepper any more. I’m going to ask my daughter she used it to paint a dinning room recently.
If I have more of the red, I could paint a card and send it to you by mail and Home Depot could match it, also you’d see if you really liked it…I can check. Let me know if you’d want me to do that…
xoxo

ps, my front door is still that color and I love it. 🙂
You are a doll! I will check with Sherwin Williams first to see if they can match that paint name to a current color. My kitchen cabinets are oak (don’t love them but can’t change them) so I need a non-purple red. I’m going by there tomorrow. :)! I’ll let you know if I can find it. If not, I’d love a paint sample card.
I hopped here by way of Marie’s blog, Emma Calls Me Mama and talk about good timing!! I have a hall bathroom that I started stripping wall paper on a whim QUITE some time ago so that I could paint in there. I even bought the paint, QUITE some time ago. (No, I won’t completely embarrass myself and tell Just how Long its been!! :>) But, visiting you for the first time and landing on this particular post must have been written in the inspiration stars. Thanks! :> Have fun painting…I’m off to pull mine out of the garage!
As I scroll through these pics, it’s really all about the details. Like the daisies on the table. The blue crystal knob. The starfish. Hmmm. Maybe a life lesson–or at least a writing lesson for me. Love it, Rob. As always.
I LOVE WHAT YOU’VE DONE. I’M NOT GOOD AT PAINTING. IT LOOKS GREAT HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Just a quick question. What is the name of the paint color that you repainted your kitchen now? The yellowish khaki color? I really like that. I love to paint too and am ALWAYS painting something or planning to!:) Thanks
4 little Pilgrims…the yellowish color is from my second paint job and it’s Mesa Tan (Sherwin Williams), this was before I discovered Behr Ultra! The latest color is a Behr color called Castle Path! Good Luck w/ your project!!! xo
