It’s August.
And as usual, it’s steaming-burning-take-your-breath-away hot here in the deep south of the US.
As I see it, there are a couple of ways to cope with the heat…
To moan and complain is the way I normally pass the time in this muggy month.
But this year I’m going to take a cue from my granddaughter Elliot.
Here’s what she likes to do…
Go barefoot outside…
Maybe wearing a pink tutu…
And get wet…
Let joy surprise when chilly water droplets lite on warm skin…
And when it’s time to dry off…just dance…
And sing…
Go ahead, try it…
I promise it’ll leave you with a smile…
And a grateful heart.
Still counting gifts my friends…
# 824-A sultry summer afternoon when joy surprised…
Great reminder of what life is really all about! Simplicity! Enjoy the day and your sweet grand baby.
This post is so cute. Ellie is a little munchkin who brings joy to everyone around her.
Sweetness is………..Ellie~

This is what we did for fun way back when. Mother would say, “Go run through the sprinkler.” Was there anything better??
Thank you for reminding me to chill out.
Ellie has the right idea! If we as adults could take a cue from children and just find joy in the simple things, I believe we would not hear as much complaining escaping from our mouths.
“Be like the flower, turn your face to the sun.”
– Kahlil Gibran
Children show us how to have JOY in our hearts! Ellie is so sweet. We used to love to “run through the sprinkler” as children and so did my kids. XO, P
The simple joy of a child…always melts a heart. I love her name…my first grandbaby…if it is a girl…will be Elliott Faith…Ellie

Cute as a button and while she innocently plays we learn to see how to make a little joy… what a great message!
Love to you today
Such a beautiful post! So fun to see Ellie live with joy in the moment. Sweet blessings!!
ohhh there’s nothing like running wet and barefoot on the grass when it’s so hot outside!!! we can learn so much from watching our kids!

Sprinklers were my fav thing about summer as a kid!!
The joy God must feel when we dance around like a child knowing He has our cares. I am sure if I wore a pink tutu He would even chuckle a bit. May we take a little time to dance in His joy and His peace! Thanks Robin!
She is soooo cute! She looks like she could be a proper little Ballerina one day! 🙂
