“Without warning a furious storm came up…”
Matthew 8:24
It’s happens to everyone. Those unannounced storms.
It doesn’t matter how careful I am to control my circumstances, storms happen.
The only thing over which I truly have control is the way I respond.
At the moment, I find myself in a tiny storm. A perfect concoction of physical and emotional upheaval, set in motion I believe, to do a work in my heart.
Because God does His best work in the storm.

~Prayers for peace in the storm my friends~
Praying for you! ?
thank you Jan xo
Father God, I know You are with Robin in this storm. Please give her the comfort of Your answers to her questions. Grant her the wisdom she desires and show her Your love. You above all others know her heart and her storms. Be with her now as she seeks Your shelter. We trust in You and have faith that Your complete and perfect works are being done in the storm. We love you LORD and we love Robin and pray Your blessings upon her. Amen
Tom, my heart overflows with His presence as I read your prayer…thank you dear friend
I agree w/ Tom’s prayer…May Jesus be your hiding place and shelter in the storm!
Joyce…thank you xo
I’m agreeing with Tom’s prayer–praying that God will be your Hiding Place right now. Your Shelter. Your Comforter.
I love you.
Julie, thank you-xo

Eileen, amen…He is so so very merciful. xo
sweet woman! i am glad you are clinging to your Savior and not doing what i would do–seek out the comfort of man. i will pray that you will KNOW the strength of the Everlasting Arms that are underneath, holding you (deut. 33:27).
Jenn, love to you …xo
That verse stood out to me the last time I read it…the without warning part. But what you said is so true about having control of how you respond. Prayers for you my friend. 🙂 I thought I would share this from Revive Our Hearts Ministry radio program from November 4, 2011. Nancy Leigh DeMoss says about 2 Cor. 4:17-18, “And in 2 Corinthians 4, at the very end of that chapter where Paul says that our afflictions in this life are really only momentary and they are light. Now that’s hard to believe when you are in the midst of the affliction! It seems like it is very major and seems like maybe it will go on for years, and it may. But Paul says, ‘Think about it in the light of eternity. Every affliction is momentary, and it is light.’ He tells us what the perspective is that helps us see it that way, that those afflictions are accomplishing something in us that could not be accomplished any other way.” That statement, specifically “those afflictions are accomplishing something in us that could not be accomplished any other way” spoke clean through to my heart the day I listened!! I think you already know though, this is the only way God can accomplish what He wants for you. 🙂
Gina…oh honey, that is exactly what He’s been whispering to me & you sooooo confirmed it! He arranges circumstances and uses them to do big works in us! I believe that with all my heart. Thank you so much for sharing that with me, I’m already seeing His hand in this …love to you
Praying for you – HUGS !
Joanne, thank you xo
Praying for you to feel His strong arms around you.
Elizabeth, thank you…xo
Robin,
please know I will pray for your “tiny storm.” Tom’s prayer was perfect and even I took refuge in those words. Love and blessings to you!
Vicky, I know you will pray…and Tom’s prayer was so powerful, I’m with you taking refuge in those words…xo
I thought of you & Vicky many times yesterday as I went through my day. I thought of each of you fondly and prayed that you were wrapped in God’s arms. After reading each of your blog posts I am reminded that when God brings you to mind it is time for me to pause longer, think of you fondly but also to keep the prayers happening throughout the day.
The birthday party looks like it was so much fun. You have a lovely family and I will admit to a bit of envy at all the ‘pink’ in your life (granddaughters). At our gatherings we are blessed (!) with wonderful grandchildren but every bit is ‘blue’ (). Little girly girls and tomboy times, too….reminds me of when my children were that age (I had daughters, no sons).
May you continue to feel God’s arms wrapped around you as you weather this stormy time.

Teresa…thank you sweet friend. xo
Hi Robin. Just this week I have been drawn to the 3 versions in the Bible of Jesus calming the storm. One version says the storm came up “without warning”. It was a “furious squall”, and they were in “great danger”. The version that most spoke was in Mark 4. This is where it records that Jesus is asleep on a cushion and the disciples wake him up and say “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown”. Jesus then says “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”. God’s been dealing with me this week that His ways are not just RIGHT, but NECESSARY, and showing me my tendency in my thinking to believe that He somehow doesn’t care because I think He has let this storm go on too long. He’s redirecting me to see I must continue to believe and have faith in Him and His love and BEST care for me in spite of the storm… that this way is the necessary way right now. This is the BEST path, not my way without a storm. Another reminder that, yes, as you say, we are not in control. Praying for you this morning 🙂
Carol…thank you for this encouraging word my friend…I love it: His ways are not just right but NECESSARY…AMEN!!!!! smooches and hugs
Robin, sorry to hear of this. Unknown to you, I have received comfort during a storm in my own life from your testimony. I am praying for you…..you are faithful in turning to Him, “…May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” – Ruth 2:12 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge, his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” – Psalm 91:4. Praying that our God will do a mighty work in your life.
Janet
