Can you believe this is a wreath made of f plastic bottles???
My friend Geri sent me a photo of her adorable Valentine Wreath and I knew I had to show you guys! I can’t believe this is made from plastic bottles!
Geri and her hubby live in Texas and have 2 grown children and two “adorable grandkids”! I asked her a few questions because I wanted us to get to know her- Here’s the brief interview…
How long have you been crafting and creating Geri?
I’ve been artsy crafty all of my life. Art was always my favorite subject in school
What kinds of materials do you like to use in your projects?
I’ve done all kinds of craft things over the years: sewing, crochet, jewelry making, glass painting, ceramics, cross stitch, embroidery, painted furniture, Christmas trees out of hangers & garland, about 5 million Christmas ornaments — you name it I’ve probably done it at one time or another!
What’s your favorite thing to work on?
I LOVE bright colors and textures and making stuff. And I love showing other people how to make stuff. My favorite project is always the last one I finished. I really like being able to recycle stuff and make something fun and beautiful out of it – like water bottles or magazine pages.
What will you be working on in the future?
I’d really LOVE to learn how to weld stuff & then make stuff out of metal & old metal parts. But right now I am very much in love with making stuff out of water bottles.
And that brings us to Geri’s latest project, this wonderful Valentine Wreath!
I was thinking I would write a brief tutorial but instead I’m going to give you a couple of resources that Geri used (at the end of the post! )
Nevertheless, I’ve gotta show you a few photos that I found so interesting…
To change the texture of the plastic she uses a heat gun…
Look at the crimped pieces of painted plastic! That was a WATER BOTTLE!!!
For this wreath Geri added some other materials to give it that happy texture!
So creative Geri, I love it!
Oh and Geri has made lots of plastic bottle projects for every season! She doesn’t have a blog (but I hope one day she will!) however you can follow her Facebook page for upcoming projects! HERE!
