Easy Decoupaged Pumpkin Using Coffee Filters

Today I'm sharing a simple fall craft - a decoupaged pumpkin made with watercolor coffee filters.

Easy Decoupaged Pumpkin Using Coffee Filters

This little pumpkin project turned out beautifully, and it's a great way to use leftover coffee filters from other crafts. If you've ever made coffee filter flowers or a coffee filter wreath, you may already have some watercolored filters ready to go.

Instead of letting them go to waste, they can easily be used to decorate a pumpkin.

Supplies

  • Natural coffee filter papers (watercolored)
  • Styrofoam pumpkin
  • Mod Podge
  • Twine
  • Straight pins
  • Hot glue gun

Step 1: Prepare the Coffee Filters

Start with natural coffee filter papers that have been lightly watercolored and allowed to dry.

The soft colors and delicate texture of the filters work beautifully for decoupage and create a layered, almost floral look on the pumpkin.

Step 2: Remove the Pumpkin Stem

Take the stem off the pumpkin so it's easier to cover the entire surface.

This allows the coffee filters to wrap smoothly around the top of the pumpkin.

Step 3: Decoupage the Coffee Filters

Using Mod Podge, apply pieces of the watercolored coffee filters directly onto the pumpkin.

Overlap the pieces slightly as you work around the pumpkin to create a textured layered effect.

Continue until the entire pumpkin is covered.

Step 4: Add Twine for Detail

Once the decoupage layer is dry, wrap twine around the pumpkin grooves.

Secure the twine with straight pins so it stays neatly in place.

This step adds definition and helps emphasize the pumpkin shape.

Step 5: Reattach the Stem

Hot glue the pumpkin stem back into place once everything is finished.

The result is a soft, textured pumpkin with beautiful watercolor variation.

A Simple Pumpkin Craft

This decoupaged pumpkin is one of those projects that looks detailed but is incredibly easy to make. The watercolor coffee filters create a unique finish that's perfect for fall decorating.

If you already have leftover filters from other projects, this is a fun and creative way to use them.
