All Things Heart and Home we operates the website at https://www.allthingsheartandhome.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

We are an independently operated publication. Contact: admin@allthingsheartandhome.com

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Your name, email address, and website if you leave a comment
  • Your email address if you subscribe to updates
  • Anything you send us by email

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, certain information is collected by us and by third-party services:

  • IP address and approximate location (usually city or region level)
  • Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • Pages viewed, time on page, and the link or search that brought you here
  • Referring website
  • Cookie and similar identifiers

Information we do not collect

We do not collect payment details, government identification numbers, or sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

2. How we use information

  • To display and operate the website
  • To display advertising, including personalised advertising where you have consented
  • To understand which content readers find useful, so we can publish more of it
  • To respond to emails and comments
  • To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site uses:

  • Strictly necessary cookies - required for the site to function, including security and load balancing
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand how the site is used in aggregate
  • Advertising cookies - used by our advertising partners to select and measure ads

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect how the site works. Where required by law, we present a consent banner before non-essential cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that banner.

4. Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Our advertising partners and their technology providers may set cookies and collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure ad performance.

Google: Google is one of the vendors that may serve ads on this site. Google uses cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at https://www.google.com/settings/ads and can opt out of participating vendors at https://www.aboutads.info/choices and https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Ad partners: we may also work with an advertising management partner and its demand partners to fill ad space on this site. Where a consent tool is shown, a current list of vendors and their privacy policies is available through it.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough to include personalised advertising; where those laws apply, you can opt out as described in Section 8.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data including IP address (which Google truncates or anonymises), pages viewed, and session duration. Google's practices are described at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6. Social and embedded content

Pages may include content from other services, such as Pinterest save buttons, embedded video, or social links. These services can collect information about you as though you had visited them directly, and their own privacy policies apply. We do not control what they collect.

7. Comments

If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, and comment you provide, along with your IP address, in order to publish the comment and detect spam. Comments may be checked through an automated spam filtering service. Your email address is not published.

8. Your privacy rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Where we rely on consent - for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising - withdrawing it will not affect processing already carried out. You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Our legal bases for processing are: consent (advertising and analytics cookies), legitimate interests (site security, spam prevention, aggregate understanding of readership), and legal obligation where applicable.

If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

If you are in another US state with a comprehensive privacy law

A growing number of US states - including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island - provide rights broadly similar to those above, including access, deletion, correction, and opt-out of targeted advertising. The specific rights and deadlines vary by state.

How to exercise your rights

Email admin@allthingsheartandhome.com with the request and the state or country you are writing from. We will respond within the timeframe required by the applicable law, generally 30 to 45 days. We may need to ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Data retention

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies can be recognised, unless you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics, currently 14 months. Emails you send us are retained for as long as needed to handle the matter.

10. Data transfers

We operate from Pakistan and use service providers located in the United States, the European Union, and elsewhere. Where personal data of EEA or UK residents is transferred outside those regions, our providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.

11. Security

We use HTTPS across the site and take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly serve personalised advertising to them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-party links

Articles may link to other websites, including retailers. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted on this page.
