I’m ready for spring & these little bird nests in flower pots are the perfect way to bring spring time into my space!
I had 3 birds nests from last year, I bought 3 clay pots with mouths a tad bigger than my nests. Using watered-down craft paint in off-white I painted the pots to give them an aged effect. (It soaks in so I painted it twice and rubbed a bit off until it had the look I wanted,)
I had 3 kinds of moss leftover from my Spring Moss wreath: HERE. Spanish, sheet and reindeer moss…I love moss. Using the glue-gun I added some sheet moss to the edges of the pot, some Spanish moss to the nests…
Glue-gunned the nest into top of pot, tipping forward just a bit, and tucked in reindeer moss here there and everywhere, filling in any gaps.
Then cutting a bit of burlap and fraying it, I used Mod Podge to wrap it around the pot. Then tied a bit of twine around the whole thing…
Just some spring-time for my table…
If I had used smaller nests and pots I would have made 5 for a centerpiece. Also, little ones would be such nice party favors for your Easter party!

Have a delightful day my friends!

These look fabulous. I love the pots aged and the nests are perfect. They look wonderful arranged on the tray. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
What a wonderful idea Robin! I think I would like making them with miniature baskets too. The moss adds the perfect touch. :0)
These are so cute and sweet :o)
I love them, Robin! What a great idea and I like how you did three on a tray on your table. Perfect and simple Spring time touch! I’ve got the nests and eggs, but not the pots {I should check the shed though}. Like you, I’ve got small bits of all kind of moss in my craft closet. This is a perfect project to use those little leftovers up.
They are fabulously adorable and you’re right – perfect for a centerpiece or little place settings or favors. Love them!
Just found a real bird’s nest yesterday. Hope you don’t mind of I do something similar. Thanks for the inspiration! If I blog about it – I’ll link to your post!
