In the spirit of All-Things-Patriotic how about we look at some great DIY American flags?! Obviously, these aren’t meant to be exact representations of the American flag, they are I think, an expression of each individual’s love of country.
Like the people who made them, all of these flags are so different, but they share a common focus! Enjoy…
Here’s one I found on the Home Depot website complete with DIY measurements and instructions. It seems simple, all you need is a little lumber and paint…
Look at this one! How cute to make a flag from bottle caps!?

And everybody loves pallets! Look at this flag is made from a few pallet slats!
This one is super light weight since it’s made from wood lathes, like those used to make lattice…
And since we’re just about to ease into summer, I so love this coastal inspired flag with rope and star fish!
This is my favorite from Laura at Finding Home Look at this brilliant idea – a flag made form bats…I’m calling this one, The Great American Pass Time Flag!
I had to put this one in…another little Flag is also made with pallet wood…
And how could I possibly leave out this internet sensation, Layla & Kevin’s coastal inspired flag! (The Lettered Cottage) I soooo love it!
I didn’t get a flag made in time for Memorial Day but I’m planning one before the 4th of July!
Thank you to all who have served or have a family member who has (or is) serving our country. I am deeply grateful.

Have a happy Memorial Day!!!!!!
Diana, I really enjoyed this long weekend! I hope you and yours had a great 3 days too! xoxo
First of all I have liked your new page awhile ago but don’t get your posts???? I love all these flags, Joe just put ours out this morning but we still need a flagpole or hook. Have a restful day!!!! XO, Pinky
Pinky, Facebook is really tough to navigate…if you ever do see a post from me hit LIKE. If you do that a couple of times facebook starts showing you my posts regularly. It’s crazy the way it works 🙂 xo
You just gave me a great idea. Jeremy gave us an old wooden door (really small–like for a tiny person). It’s been on our porch for years. Would make a great painted flag! I’ll pass this along to Ricky as a new project!
This was so funny. First thing yesterday morning, he said, “Text Robin. Tell her it’s burning daylight. See if Mike is up and working.” 🙂
Love y’all.
Julie, I can’t wait to see what you come up with!!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing my flag! Wishing you a great week. Take care, Laura
Laura, your flag is brilliant and I love it so much!!! xoxo
