This has been the most exciting week visiting all the homes in the Finding Fall Home Tours ! (Because I sometimes like my creative juice in video form, I did a Video Tour at the end of post! )
Welcome friends who came over from The Handmade Home! I’m so happy you’re here!
This whole week has put me in the mood to join in with BHG and kick off 100 Days of Holidays ! I love that idea, celebrating for the next 100 days! That’s kinda how my family does it, we kick off the holiday season in September at the Yellow Daisy Festival (that’s a arts and crafts festival in metro Atlanta) and plan fun things all the way through December!
So with that in mind, welcome to our home! (Doesn’t The Husband’s DIY Tudor Door look lovely wearing her fall finery?)
Bindi Lou Who says, ‘ummm, do I know you?’
Don’t worry about little Bindi, she’ll warm up to you in no time…come on in my friends!
I did a little decorating on the entry table…just a few lanterns and a piece of a fall garland. (You know how I love to disassemble garlands and use them all over the house! It’s very budget friendly 🙂 )
And if you’ve been hanging out with me, you know whoooo loves owls! I do! We even have a #DailyOwlFix over on my Facebook Page
because an owl-a-day is a hoot!
Since the foyer opens to the great room, let’s head in here next! This room is what sold us on the house, we’ve done a lot in here since we moved in just over a year ago, but from the first time we walked into this room we knew it would be perfect for our big family get-togethers!
What do you guys think about this blue tin plaque? I think it’s supposed to go on the wall but I kinda like it on the coffee table…
I think a mantle with a TV hanging over it presents a rather annoying decorating dilemma, I did a little video on my youtube channel about how I try to overcome that particular challenge…The Husband would like to go on record: he does not think the TV poses any dilemma whatsoever, at all.
Oh, this is Boo. He’s so sleepy right now. Please don’t take it personally, it’s not you, it’s his age and condition-the condition being his age …
Do you guys ever use cotton stems to decorate for fall? I like them, maybe because my mama picked cotton when she was a little girl…I think of her young self in field of cotton with the sun beating down, every time I look at this little vase …
The great room opens up to the kitchen where we put The Husband’s DIY Farm Table. He made it especially for Sunday Suppers when our all-grown-up children and our four ittie bittie granddaughters come to dinner.
A few gourds and fall picks in a trough box is a perfect centerpiece for a farm table…it’s simple and easy and reminds me to give thanks for the harvest…
I’m loving all-things-plaid this fall, so I added some plaid napkins to my autumn place setting. I asked The Husband to make some wood chargers and individual bread boards for our fall table and he whipped them up in no time. I know, I’m so blessed. That man is amazing.
I set the table just for you my friends, I mean if I left it this way all the time, my tiny granddaughters wouldn’t have a place to color their pages or frost their cookies or make their ice cream sundaes …
Can you see out onto the little screen porch? The porch got a makeover this year, you can see more of it HERE. I added a pumpkin or two out there. The Husband and I sit there every single morning and most evening…I made a couple of fun lights for when the days get shorter. This DIY Mason Jar Light is right above my chair so I can see to read…
really the porch doesn’t need a whole lot of fall decorating because a couple of those trees just on the other side of the screen, will burst into brilliant gold in a few short weeks…
Since I’ve been warming up our white kitchen will all-things-rustic, it feels a lot like autumn already…
The Husband has been making rustic wood risers, end grain cutting boards and bread & cheese boards and to me, those beautiful pieces give the room all the warmth of autumn…
While we’re here in the kitchen, please have a caramel apple, because if you don’t I’m going to have to eat them …(FYI…I had to eat them. All of them. )
Just off the kitchen is the dining room…I always hang a wreath here on the stained glass. This fall my coffee filter wreath is looking quite lovely for a 5 dollar project~
I like to decorate with opposites don’t you? I painted this drop cloth using pretty doily stencils HERE and decided it was perfect for fall along with the rustic pedestal and the burlap candles are a nice contrast to the mercury glass…
I’m so happy you came by today…Bindi is sad to see you go…please come back, ’cause now that you’ve visited, we’re friends and I’d love to get to know your beautiful self!
And here’s the video from my Youtube Channel, in case some of you might want to watch it! Sending love my friends xo
The next stop on the tour is Diane’s at In My Own Style Tell her I said hello!

What a gorgeous home you have! Love all your beautiful Fall decor. Would you consider sharing your husband with me? You two are such a creative team!
Katie, I’m serious! That man is amazing! What do you need him to do!? xo
Very beautiful. Luv the marriage of the glam of the mercury glass and the texture of the humble burlap. Such a warm home.
Gee, thank you my friend, I really appreciate you taking time to give me the gift of your encouragement xo
Lovely site Robin and your Fall mantle is very pretty. I also have to deal with a large TV over the fireplace and in addition there are speaker boxes and xbox camera below the TV that sit on the mantle. I saw in your video that you had a speaker box. Does having the garland in front of it effect the sound? This is the first time I have viewed your site and I will be back again. Happy Fall to you and yours
Linda, I’m so happy to meet you! Ya know, I have the speaker facing up right now, I’ve tried it without anything in front of it and with the garlands and other things I put in front…I can’t tell a difference. Noooowww, I’m not sure The Husband would agree, but since the fireplace is the focal point of our room and we DO have a GIANT TV there, he compromises and lets me decorate the mantle like I want to! Our ceilings are pretty high and we have speakers mounted here and there all over the room, so honestly we never have a problem with the sound…if anything it’s too loud! 🙂
I’m so excited you stopped in and now we’re friends! Looking forward to getting to know you in the months ahead! xo
Simply beautiful, Robin! I can see why you and your husband fell in love with your family room….that fireplace is gorgeous!! Love it all….I always spot something new when I visit your home!~~Angela
Ang, thank you sweet friend. sending love ox
Your home is unique and gorgeous as always… buuuuuut I just want to know how you trained your dog to stand in the door. Mine would have run me over on her way out.
Katie, I think my pups are terrified of venturing out into the front yard! Decoy isn’t afraid of anything…like her mom 🙂 ox

It looks fit for a magazine spread all of its own Robin. You are clearly outdoing yourself and I can only just smile in complete wonder and awe. I see such clutter and mess around me and feel so far removed from something as beautiful as all you’ve done. I just marvel at how gorgeous your surroundings are! Thankful to get to share in a peek of your world and your talents friend- truly delightful 🙂
Vicky, I wish you could come stay with me for a little while…it’s being an empty nester that helps you know…although my house if filling up again 🙂 xo Love you sweet one.

What is the paint color of the blue table in your screened in porch? Your home is absolutely beautiful. !
Thank you Kathy! I love that blue also! It’s a Behr Ultra Premium color: Opal Silk! It’s really scrumptious!!! I’d love to know if you use it! Here’s the post on that color (there were 2 others that my friends at Behr suggested, you might like one of those too! ) http://www.allthingsheartandhome.com/2013/05/13/behr-paints-opal-silk/
