Happy Monday my friends! The weekend The Husband made a Chicken Wire Screen or room divider! I’m going to use it for some upcoming parties and on my screen porch just for fun!
It’s made from gloriously aged pallet wood and lovely honey combed shaped of chicken wire…
For the Fall Party I think I’ll attach some photos of past Fall Parties and maybe some little plants for party favors…
Tea candles in little buckets also look ever-so-lovely on the porch at night…
Here’s what you need…
*4- 8 foot 1 x 4’s (or slats of pallet wood)
*Corrugated Nails from Home Depot
*Wood Glue
*Chicken Wire (24″ wide x 10 feet)
*3/8 ” staples and a staple gun
*1 pair of small hinges
This didn’t take long for The Husband to make…he used 4 pieces of pallet wood 6 feet long & 4 pieces 2 feet long…
Cut the Pallet wood to 3 and 1/2 inches wide…
Cut 45 degree angles on the top of all 4 six foot sections…
On 2 of the two foot sections, cut 45 degree angles on both ends…
Measure 12″ from the bottom and mark a line (the ends that are not cut at an angle). At that line use one of the 2 foot pieces that wasn’t cut at an angle and fasten it with corrugated nails…
***We glued the edges before attaching with the corrugated nails…
Do the same thing at the top with the pieces that have 45% angles.
***NOW Repeat this process for your other frame…
Attach you two frames with small hinges…
Staple chicken wire to the back pulling tight as you go…
I used S hooks to hang a few plants covered in burlap which would be so cute as a party favor…each guest could just take their tiny plant off the screen before they leave…
When we finish the back yard project, I’ll take this down on the patio and hang candles for a night time get together…
Old photos can be easily displayed for a family reunion…or photos of a baby’s first year at the one year party!
Or you could fill burlap bags with candy for a Halloween party…
This will serve as a backdrop for lots of parties and it took The Husband under an hour to put it together!
The great thing about this is it folds up flat and can easily be stored!
Sending love to each of you sweet friends~
xo
What a cool and different project. Love how it turned out!
Nice project! I wasn’t familiar with corrugated nails-always good to learn something new 😉
This looks so good, especially on the porch! Thanks Robin for sharing, that husband is a keeper.
I love this idea, Robin! How perfect for so many different occasions!~~Angela
The pictures you pinned up just melt my heart. So does this whole project. I’m asking Ricky tonight about corrugated nails. I’ve never heard of them–not sure I can pronounce them.
So beautiful, Robin. And also so doable.
Love Love Love…what a great idea
Oh my goodness! That is just the cutest thing. How did I not know I needed one? It’s super wonderful. Love how you decorated it too!!
Shannon, thank you honey! We’ll make you one!!! ox
So cute, love it!!
I really love this idea, Robin! I think it is my favorite, so far. For a Fall party, I could envision hanging pumpkin tea lights also. I also like the idea of hanging photos. It makes it so much more personal and special.
Eileen, that’s a great idea honey!!! I love the pumpkin tea lights!!! xoxo
Do you think this would be strong enough to display my wood painted signs for. Show?
It is so perfect!
Christine, I think if you pull the chicken wire tight it will definitely hold your signs! Chicken wire is thin but it’s steel! xo
